We are Liberation Tours - Canada's premier battlefield tour company and your official tour operator for Remembrance Tourism.
What is Remembrance Tourism? We organize group coach travel which focuses on Canada's involvement in the two world wars - WW1 (1914-1918) and WW2 (1939-1945) - and the service and sacrifice of those who fought for democracy and freedom. Thousands of families across the country have a family history of military service - perhaps a father or uncle who served in World War Two, or a grandfather who served in World War One (The Great War), or maybe an aunt who served in Canada or overseas in the Canadian Women's Army Corps (CWAC) or as a Nursing Sister.
The children of these honoured veterans are now mostly retired, they have time and resources, and are eager to follow in the footsteps of their loved ones. Our tours offer them the ideal opportunity to make what we describe as a pilgrimate. These are experience tours, visiting such places as Vimy Ridge, Juno Beach, Passchendaele, Ortona, Montecassino, and more - all while mixing in the amazing culture of Europe.
The words we often hear are "I've always wanted to ....", or "This has been a bucket list item for years ...". But of course, we also have travelers who have no family connection to the wars at all. Some people have seen the history in popular media - motion pictures like Saving Private Ryan, All Quiet on the Western Front, or A Bridge Too Far - or they have always been simply interested in this aspect of Canadian history. We have travelers with varied interests.
It would be our privilege to take your clients on an amazing, emotional journey. At this time, however, we regret we are not able to accept bookings through agencies or pay commissions. This requires additional licensing in Ontario, which we hope to have in place beginning with the 2027 tour season.
In the meantime, we would be grateful if you would consider sending your clients our way, so that we can fulfill their bucket list travel. 🍁
